The primary mission of the Kahuzi-Biega National Park (PNKB) is to conserve the biodiversity of this geographical area, in order to maintain its global value from an ecological, socio-economic and cultural perspective. In 2010, in order to fulfill this mission, the PNKB established a ten-year goal materialized through a fundamental document known as the « Plan d’Aménagement et de Gestion » and entitled: Ensure protection, sustainable and participatory management of the PNKB and of its influential zones, in order to maintain its integrity. » The PNKB management is organized through 5 programs, working in an independent and coordinated manner under the supervision of the Administration of the Site:
